Flyweight Development

We’re a software development company focused on building agile, growth-driven applications that punch above their weight. Flyweight Development Oy (FWD, Finnish business identity code 3135270-3) is run by Jaakko Virtanen and Sebastian Laxell.

At FWD, our philosophy is simple: create high-impact technology with a featherlight touch. We believe the best software is crafted for today’s users while being designed for tomorrow’s markets.

Jaakko

Jaakko Virtanen

Jaakko is a co-founder of Flyweight Development with a background in banking and finance. He's been part of multiple startups, bringing a sharp eye for business and a hands-on approach to building products that solve real problems.

At FWD, Jaakko handles coding, design, analytics, and strategic work. When he's not at the computer, he spends his time with his wife and two kids.

Sebastian

Sebastian is a co-founder of Flyweight Development with a background as an award-winning teacher, IT manager, and serial startup founder. He has been developing web services for over 20 years and has hands-on knowledge in scaling products to millions of users.

At FWD, Sebastian handles coding, infrastructure, technical innovation, and full-stack optimizations. When he's not coding, he spends his time with his wife and three kids.
